The Alps are the most specific French purchase, because a single variable dominates everything: how far the front door is from a lift. Chalets with true ski-in access hold value differently from chalets a shuttle ride away, and no amount of finish closes that gap. The Haute-Savoie villages around the Portes du Soleil — Les Gets among them — offer traditional timber chalets and newer builds to modern insulation standards, most with the wood-and-stone interior the market expects. What has changed is usage. Owners now come in July and August as well as February, for the walking, the lakes and the temperature, and summer letting has gone from afterthought to a real part of the case for owning.
