Erin is a passionate advocate for out-island living. Born and raised in Freeport, Grand Bahama, her Bahamian heritage extends through the Abacos, New Providence, Long Island, Eleuthera and beyond. She brings a deep rooted love for the people, culture and history of the Bahamas, with a genuine interest in connecting people to these beautiful islands.

When Erin first returned home after high school and college abroad, she spent several years sailing the islands of the Bahamas and Caribbean, both as a marine ecology instructor and as ship’s captain, becoming the first woman to earn an International Offshore Yachtmaster license.

She then returned to the Abacos and reignited life into the local NGO Friends of the Environment. After which she launched Abaco Outback, her own Nature Tour business, introducing visitors to the beauty of the islands while consulting for the creation of Bahamian environmental legislation.

She traveled extensively in her early years and spent the last 20 years raising her children in the Appalachian mountains of North Carolina, returning each year with them to nurture her family’s connection to the islands.

With her many years as a business owner, educator, naturalist and manager of her own rental properties she is perfectly poised to promote and share the culture of island living.
